| Sonic Seducer 2003. I personally think that the inclusion of a concept makes things much more interesting. Rock bands rarely have anything interesting to foretell, usually it’s just an image without a message. A concept renders the possibility of extending the aesthetic manifestation further; it makes way for aesthetic symbolism, aesthetics with thought for purpose etc., etc., all the way into an ideological and philosophical organism by which to instigate incitement and change. 2. What sort of change do you have in mind? What is it you would like to see in our society? People are born into a society which fosters them to slavery and acceptance without questioning. As far as you accept the conditions and the products provided by society - televised drama, daytime soap-operas, TV-dinners, real-life TV-series, life without an apparent meaning, a job deficit of gratification, a life deficit of fulfillment etc., etc.; society will keep sustaining its nourishment and make sure that people are kept on life-support. The contemporary situation of life as we perceive it, needs to change, life is more than this. Live life to its fullest, even if it this life guarantees that it won’t
last more than one day, instead of living for a lifetime, but in restraint. Those are the thoughts and visions I seek to submit, and maybe one day, only if they only affect one single individual, it will render change and establish a more fulfilling tomorrow. 3. What are you trying to achieve with your music? (not in a sense of commercial success, but in a sense of self-realization?) Self realization IS the quest. Fantasizing, envisioning, recognizing, estimating, watching, reading, smelling, tasting and comprehending life and possibly canalizing these very thoughts, impressions, fantasies, visions, desires and words; that is the purpose, that is my ambition, that is how I aspire my self realization. 4. Death and Folk are often connected, but Sex and Folk seem somehow opposite? I don’t see this, and I believe that these impressions are just the result of expectations and preconceived conventions; and why is that? 5. Sex, death and religion are always popular topics in Underground music. What is so special about your approach towards these subjects? Each subject establishes the essence of life; sex is the consequence of why we are born; from the instance we are born we start to die and in between life and death, we suffer the consequences of religion. 6. What’s so special about your point of view? Sex, death..... so many people talk about these connections in the same way as you mentioned. I have never exclaimed that my visions are particularly more special than the visions of others. People fear life, they fear their instincts and they fear death. Life is rarely lived TODAY but more willingly postponed until next week
or the week after, and so on until we die, unfulfilled and bitter. One must realize that there is a vast difference between living and being
alive. Life is the consequence of sex; religion an appliance by which to control mankind’s natural instincts, and Jesus on the cross, the religious ornament of Christianity’s understanding of sexuality - a god-given son born of virgin birth and crucified as a virgin; the pinnacle of Christian perfection; devoid of sex, devout to chastity. Religion is capable of serving as a placebo for sex and all that is intrinsically natural, but I am however willing to say that surrendering to the superstitions and apparitions of religion at a mature age, detached from the enforced misfortune of being raised as a devout Christian, implies tendencies of mental impairment more than any alleged need and/or desire to remain chaste and pure. Why do people renounce themselves and strive towards a fabricated virtue of not to be human? Sexuality establishes who we are. Our conception, realization and acceptance of our individual sexuality are what essentially and fundamentally establish who we are and how we relate to ourselves. Sexual consensus and an open mind go a long way. 7. Would you consider your art as political? Because politics not only involve economics etc., but also ways of thinking about how to lead an own personal life. I am not an apolitical individual, but I am neither inclined to label
and categorize my political understandings, nor am I especially interested
in other people doing it for me. My thoughts are not requisite of political
orientation; and it is not indispensable whether I am left, right, center,
top or bottom. 8. Are the images and concepts you create with your music separate or mingled with your personal life? My life is my art and my art is my life, I won’t separate the two. ORE is the sole projection of my personal aesthetic selfishness, and through its utilization I solely try to present my visions of the world as I behold it; whether these visions serve as an alternate and/or possibly improved conception of society as we know it, is for each and everyone to decide for themselves. 9. What divides you from other people? Does anything? 10. What does “fetish” mean to you? Fetishism equals the devout affinity for a specific item, object and/or icon, whether it sexual, religious and/or symbolical; and fetish for me, the affinity is for stockings, corsetry and high-heels; those are the icons of my desire and admiration. 11. Which are the most important things in your life? I envision, fantasize, yearn, long, wait and create. 12. What’s pornography for you? Often for people who tend to be very open minded when it comes to sex, pornography hardly exists; everything is only “erotic”. For others, mostly those religious minds, nearly everything tends to be “pornographic”. Pornography = sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal. I make no difference between pornography and eroticism, they are both exclusively subjective, and as far as I am concerned, either resembles that which serves ME, with excitement. Sexuality and sex are part of our nature; we crave it, one way or another, and pornography is hence the consequence of our need and desires to experience sexuality and arousal even at times when it can’t be found and/or satisfied elsewhere. Most men, not to say all men, are born hormonally impaired; testosterone
turns men into idiots; Neanderthals willing to do almost anything to realize
sexual gratification and relief; so it has been and so it shall ever be. There are certainly numerous women who enjoy pornography, but pornography
would certainly look a whole lot different if it was produced by women
instead of men. |
